Well, I finally got the old oil paints out the other day and started playing around with a piece of cardboard that just happend to be sitting in front of me, no primer, just paint on board,(in no time at all it will just be a hole in a piece of cardboard).

This image is a scan of a page I drew a while ago. It started out as an exercise in perspective with the shelves in the top left panel and I just kept going. The character breaking in to the warehouse is one I came up with a while ago and has his own backstory, But I'm afraid that for the time being this page is all on its lonesome.

Sometimes I sit down at my desk, and a characterture will start spontaneously emerging on the page. Its really fun when this happens, and even funner still when it works as an accurate representation of the personas well as a drawing. Unfortunatlly I dont feel that this drawing of one of the guy's from work (I hope he dosent look at this blog), quite achive's either of these thing's. Nearly, but not quite.

Been a slow day as far as getting any work done goes. Then, this afternoon, just when I'm about to give up the ghost, I start drawing this characterture of Ronnie Barker. I dont know why Ronnie Barker poped into my head, but I am happy with this little drawing.

Stefan G. Bucher is an illustrator who has been doing something called the 'Daily Monster' for quite some time now. What he does is dabs the paper with some black ink then sprays it with compressed air, creating random blobs and shapes from which he then creates his daily monster's. I highly recommend you Google him and check out his time lapse footage of the process, very cool stuff. Here is a pirate Ive done using the ink blot method, a homage to Bucher's monsters.
